Our printables package consists of one color page and one black-and-white page. Both pages can be printed on ordinary bond paper. The color page contains layouts for five different cards in two sizes and two formats, for a realistic-looking display.
We've also included plenty of tiny stamps, and filled the entire black-and-white page with a generous supply of cut-and-fold envelopes in both sizes.
The cards use high quality vintage graphics from the Library of Congress collection, lovingly collected by Snapshots of the Past and made available under a Creative Commons 2.0 license. We have added a holiday greeting to the inside of each card, themed to the image on the front and we've also left plenty of room for your doll to add her own personal greetings.
As an added bonus, these cards and envelopes fit perfectly into the Lee & Pearl FREE Holiday Stocking pattern. If you don't already have that adorable, easy-to-make pattern, be sure to download it HERE.
If you've made doll-scale items from printable sheets before, you'll have no trouble figuring out how to cut and fold the cards and envelopes. If you are new to the world of printables, here's a quick introduction:
For the cards, line a see-through ruler up with the crop marks for each card. Cut between the marks with a craft knife or rotary cutter until you have detached each card. Fold the cards so the image is on one side and the greeting is on the other. Use a glue pen, glue stick, rubber cement or double stick tape to glue the folded sides together. Then fold again so the image is on the front and the greeting is on the inside.
For the envelopes, cut along the vertical lines, separating the long strips of envelopes. Then cut along the slanted lines, separating each individual envelope. Trim away the remaining notches and flap edges, then fold the flaps to the inside along the dashed lines. Apply glue to the edges of one long flap and fold it on top of the two short flaps. Keep the other flap free so you can slide a card inside. Glue a stamp to the outside, and your card is ready for the mini mail!
